The Driving Instructor Ability Test (Part 3) checks your practical Driving Instructor Teaching Skills by giving you two half-hour driving lessons on topics that the examiner picks. The examiner acts like a student during the lessons, asking questions and making mistakes from time to time to see how well you can teach.
You will need to clearly explain the goals of the lesson, give structured briefings when needed, and give the right verbal guidance while driving to help the students learn. You also need to find and fix any mistakes or problems that come up during the lesson.
You have to get at least a 4 out of 6 on each lesson to pass A grade of 4 means that the teacher did a good job, a grade of 5 means that the teacher did a great job,. and a grade of 6 means that the teacher did an excellent job. To become a qualified ADI, you need to learn how to teach driving during this part.
